Software

The key tasks of the IT Services Department include managing projects and undertaking tasks aimed at supporting the administrative staff of the Jagiellonian University in all activities concerning broadly understood computers and IT services.

Paid licences

  • Microsoft software

    • available for: UJ units (for work computers)
  • Esri ArcGIS software
    • type: GIS software,
    • available to: UJ units (for work computers), UJ staff (work and private computers), PhD candidates and students of the UJ (private computers)

The procedure for obtaining licenses and installation media for individual programs is available in the “Software” section on the website of the IT Services Department of the Jagiellonian University The above page can also be accessed from the homepage of the Jagiellonian University by clicking Staff, PhD Candidates or Students, then Tools and Software.

In most cases, in order to gain access to the licenses and software, you need to log in to the Jagiellonian University website using an e-mail account in the @uj.edu.pl@student.uj.edu.pl bądź doctoral@uj.edu.pl.

    • type: anti-virus software
    • available to UJ units (for work computers) and UJ staff (work and private computers)
  • EthoVision
    • type: supporting studies of the movement of animals
    • available to the Jagiellonian University's staff
  • LabView
    • type: programming of electronic systems and devices, data acquisition and transmission, controlling laboratory devices

Uniwersytet Jagielloński podpisał umowę, która umożliwia pracownikom, doktorantom i studentom UJ korzystanie z Systemu Informacji Prawnej LEX.

Umowa obowiązuje do 15 maja 2021 roku.

Dostęp do Systemu Informacji Prawnej LEX jest możliwy po zalogowaniu się na tej stronie.

The most common causes of problems encountered when downloading software from Jagiellonian University websites

please check to see if:

  1. you are logged in
  2. you have sufficient privileges – check if you are not downloading software intended only for Jagiellonian University staff
  3. you are using Mozilla Firefox – see if the browser freezes during the download process or opens a window filled with random characters. In this case, please use a different browser
  4. if the downloaded file is complete or the download does not end with before the file is fully downloaded. If this error occurs, please download the file again.
